Administrative Assistant

Duties :

An Administrative Assistant position that provides accurate language interpretation and translations daily to support Diplomatic Security /Antiterrorism Assistance (DS-ATA) Indonesia operations. Assignments include supporting law enforcement trainings for Indonesian National Police (INP) and other Government of Indonesia (GoI) entities as assigned. DS-ATA conducts 20-30 courses each year, covering various tactical, technical, and soft skills. This position supports all assigned courses throughout Indonesia, and occasionally overseas for regional training events. The position requires the ability to provide accurate and seamless interpretations to bridge the language gap between U.S. Embassy personnel, Temporary Duty (TDY) staff, Contractors, and Indonesian counterparts to include course participants. The position provides consecutive interpretation for the Regional Security Office (RSO) and DS-ATA personnel during meetings with senior government leadership across multiple GoI offices, but primarily within the INP hierarchy. Provides accurate written translations for myriads of documents to include but not limited to, legal decisions, government regulations, curriculum materials, news articles, social media posts, and memorandums – often under tight deadlines. This position will be assigned to the U.S. Embassy Jakarta, and the incumbent will maintain regular in-person work schedule in accordance with Embassy regulations. The position is responsible to maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners throughout Indonesia and abroad.

Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of DS ATA official vehicles, must possess a valid SIM-A driver’s license (valid for at least five years) and driving skills will be tested.

Qualifications and Evaluations :

Requirements:

All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust security certificate.
All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time four weeks upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Education Requirements:

2 years of University / College Studies is required.
